Showcase Symmetry

Photographers love shooting symmetry because, well, it's fascinating, but also because it brings harmony and balance to the image. Don't shoot symmetrical scenes from an angle. Keep it straight, and center it horizontally or vertically (or both) depending on which axis the symmetry is on.

Examples

Perfect symmetry (horizontal and vertical), so I positioned the scene dead center.
Horizontal symmetry. If I moved my camera down a bit, I could have had vertical symmetry as well.

Left and right sides are symmetrical (horizontal symmetry), so I centered the scene horizontally.
