Indoor/Outdoor Transitions

We saw how pillars get nice side light. But in fact, any area with an indoor/outdoor partition will get you nice side light. So if you're near a corridor or a tunnel, doorway, or cave, position your model right at the edge so that one side of their face faces the outside and the other faces the inside.

Examples

Edge of a wall. See how the side of her face facing the outside has nice side light.
A hole in the wall. The light coming from the outside shines the left side of the mom’s face.
A doorway. Distinctly brighter on the side facing the outside.
End of a corridor. Some nice side light on the right-ish side of his face.
